LexisNexis Academic

LexisNexis Academic provides access to a wide range of news, business, legal, medical and reference information. The online service is divided into 5 sections:

  1. News - provides the full text of today's news or search back more than 20 years
  2. Business - provides full text company news and financial information
  3. Legal Research - provides full text U.S. federal, state and international legal materials
  4. Medical - provides full text and abstracted medical and health information
  5. Reference - provides general reference sources on biographical information, country profiles, polls and surveys, quotations and world almanac

Legal research by LexisNexis Academic

Search Method:
1. Select a search form using either of the following methods:
i) On the left of the LexisNexis Academic home page, select a category under Academic Search Forms, then select a sub-category.
ii) Click on Site Map on the top of the screen. Site Map displays all search forms for selection.


2. To search for documents from a particular source:

i) Click Sources in the top menu bar.

ii) Search or browse to locate the source.

iii) Click Search This Title

Search Tips

Use the following operators and commands when entering search terms if necessary.

Phrase Searching- Enclose the phrase in quotation marks, e.g. "Legal reform"
